News Release

Commissioning of the Midlands Water Scheme was successfully completed in July, 2014 and its performance is exceeding expectations.

The distribution system was commissioned in June and some farmers received water in May and June. Water will now be delivered through August and September, to farmers who require supply, with the first irrigation season to officially open on 1 October, 2014.

The power station has been successfully commissioned to supply up to 6MW and is operating well.

Tasmanian Irrigation is pleased with the scheme and how it is performing after the project was completed on schedule and on budget.
