The first site of three has been successfully upgraded as part of TasNetworks project to remove unsupported RTU from service.

The first site was Rosebery located on Tasmanian West Coast. The RTU provides operational control and monitoring of TasNetworks Rosebery Substation (110/44/22kV). The substation provides power supply to Nearby mine operations and the Rosebery and Tullah distribution feeders.
The RTU was upgraded by means of recommissioning the D20M+ RTU IO Peripheral Boards with newer D20ME processor. That is, the expensive option of rewiring and recommission all the RTU physical wiring was avoided by simply replacing a firmware chip (PCommon) on each IO board.
